Torment Behind the Smile

When the mind plays games
And the soul seeks refuge
In places so dark and cold

The lips curve into a happy smile
But the eyes try to hold back tears
That could rush down like a river

When insecurity builds a wall
And negativity guards the spirit
To keep all joy at bay

And then the body crumbles
Aching, it falls to the ground
Seeking to end this misery

A dark mist surrounds you
You start to fade away
It gets hard to breathe

You look up to the sky
In hopes to find
Light on the other side

I Never Told You (The Lyrics To My New Song)

A million words are never enough
When you have a frozen heart
I can act like nothing's wrong
But that only gets me down

There's a crowd I gotta push through
And you know I'm not good at that
Faces make me nervous
Only yours was so perfect

I never told you
How I felt with you around
If I did maybe you'd stay
A little longer or forever

I was only afraid to hold on cause
Whenever I did it never went right
It was always a mess that
I tried to avoid this time

Now every moment is a flashback
Every second trapped in my head
Memories dancing
To tune of your voice

What Lies Within

I sat by the window staring at the sky
Wondering how fast time flies by
The people we met and promised to keep
Were just memories now

I walked by the river and it made me feel
Like the waves were synchronised to my heart beat
Every time I tried to move on
I found myself only getting lost

I danced in the rain on an empty street
The only music being the voices in my head
And for a second everything stood still
My heart was the only thing beating

For I seek what I already have
And I long for the happiness that lies within me
I wait in hope for the fog to fade
And to see you standing before me.

A Nation Laments (A Tribute to The victims of The Tsunami That Hit Japan in 2011)

As the sun was setting behind the horizon
Laughing and playing was the entire nation
Not knowing what time would bring
About their fate they did not think

Came next morning and brought along terror
There was no measure of their horror
Then came the mighty waves so gigantic
And threw the poor folk in frantic

Oh! what dear Lord did happen that day
That threw them all into dismay
The mighty waves that came gushing
Left a nation lamenting.
